Join us for the London Premiere of the captivating documentary “From the TGM to the TGV.” This film has enjoyed resounding success in France, captivating audiences with its lyrical portrayal of a 2,000-year-old community’s journey from Tunisia to France. The film explores the lives, identities, and connections of Tunisian Jews who have embraced new cultures while preserving their vibrant heritage.

Synopsis: “We are Tunisia and Tunisia is us” resonates throughout this documentary, presenting a vivid portrait of a community transplanted from Tunisia to France. The film showcases the stories of both renowned figures and everyday individuals, from comedians to humble food vendors, who reflect on their identities and carry the exuberance and humor that characterize Tunisian Jews.

The narrative unfolds through two interconnected rail lines: the coastal TGM railway that once connected Tunis to La Goulette, a summer haven where Jews mingled with diverse communities, and the high-speed TGV railway representing their new life in the Parisian suburb of Sarcelles. Director Ruggiero Gabbai, known for his poignant documentaries on Jewish communities, masterfully captures the essence of this journey.
