Not a lecture. A life. A story of resilience.
The Annual Spiro Tribute returns on Wednesday 11 February 2026 at 7:00pm, hosted at JW3, for an evening that celebrates courage, humanity and the power of refusing to give in.
This year’s tribute is different.
Rather than a lecture, the evening centres around a powerful autobiographical play by Bat El, an Israeli creator, actress and storyteller. Bat El is a woman small in stature, yet truly giant in spirit. Her story speaks of overcoming prejudice, challenging stigma and reaching extraordinary personal and professional heights in a world that too often underestimates difference.
Her journey reflects the very essence of the Spiro Tribute and the spirit of Nitza and Robin Spiro, the belief that if your vision is true, it is always worth continuing, no matter how many obstacles stand in your way.
Opening Performance
The evening will open with a remarkable performance by Annalie Huberman Hertz, an international performer with Down syndrome and a member of Drag Syndrome. Annalie’s presence on stage is a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when potential is recognised, nurtured and allowed to shine.
An Evening of Reflection and Inspiration
Together, these stories invite us to explore what enables people to overcome hardship, whether through resilience, parenthood, hidden inner strength, or the courage to keep going when giving up might feel easier.
The evening will conclude with reflections on why Robin ( and Nitza) continues to deserve this annual tribute, why his message remains relevant to each of us and why the commitment to honouring his “never give in” spirit endures.
