The Wallace Collection is one of the world’s most celebrated art collections and perhaps the greatest single art collection ever gifted to a nation. It remains at Hertford House, Sir Richard and Lady Wallace’s former home. During a visit in 1878, when they were still in residence, Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli described it as ‘ this palace of genius fancy & taste’.
