1-3 Willow Road, located near Hampstead Heath, is a terrace of three houses designed by Modernist architect, Ernö Goldfinger and built in 1938. Number 2 is the largest part and Goldfinger chose it to be his family home-- he lived there with his wife Ursula and their children until his death in 1987.
Since 1995 2 Willow Road has been managed by the National Trust and open to the public. Guests have a chance to see the original interior decoration together with the furniture designed by Goldfinger himself and the spiral staircase designed by Danish engineer, Ove Arup. The exhibition contains also his collection of modern art including works by Marcel Duchamp, Henry Moore, Max Ernst and Bridget Riley.
The Spiro Ark has been offered an exclusive guided tour of the house which will include a short film. The tour will take place on Wednesday 30th September at 2.00pm and will last about 1 hour 15 min.
