Following our stimulating meeting last year in the Houses of Parliament, we have arranged a fascinating tour of the building itself, accompanied by a trained guide. We will hear of the dramatic events that have taken place over the centuries. Starting from the Sovereign's entrance, our route will take us through the Queen's Robing room, the Royal Gallery, the Prince's Chamber, the House of Lords, Peers Gallery in the House of Commons and many more interesting chambers. Our guide will lead us through the history of the Mother of Parliaments, which was initially constructed by King Canute in the 11th century as a royal palace and such it remained until its last resident, Henry VIII. Since then, it has burned down twice and been rebuilt, and was even a victim of a direct hit during the Blitz in 1941. It was re-opened in 1950 and its inspiring history will come to life as we wend our way through the Palace of Westminster.
Join us for yet another fascinating afternoon at the heart of the British establishment.
