Clarence House was built in 182 in the shadow of Buckingham Palace and has been a Royal residence for over 170 years. It was the London home of young Princess Elizabeth and her husband Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. However, after her accession to the throne, the Queen moved to Buckingham Palace, and Clarence House became the accommodation of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
Today, Clarence House is the official residence of Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.
This is where they invite on behalf of the nation several thousand official guests every year.
The Royal Collection opens the House to the public only for 3 months in a year (August-October). The visitors have the unique opportunity to see the amazing collection of The Queen Mother which is predominantly abundant in 20th century British art, as well as beautiful organic gardens.
The Spiro Ark has been very fortunate in being allocated two time slots to visit Clarence House - one at 11.45 a.m. and the second immediately after on the same day at 12 p.m. Each tour will last 1,5h and will consist of 18 participants.
Please arrive 10 minutes earlier to receive your ticket from our Director, who will also participate in the tour. The meeting point will be in Stable Yard Road just in front of the House. The nearest underground station is Green Park.
