The Queen Is Opening Her Private Garden
We have been fortunate in obtaining a slot to visit the Queen's private garden on Sunday 17 May 2009 at 10.00 a.m. The gardens are the largest private garden in London and cover 40 acres. These gardens have never before been seen by the public, they contain a huge variety of exotic shrubs and flowers from all over the world, a greenhouse with carved pillars, an arboretum and of course the lake with various water fowl and bog plants. Upon our arrival we will be ushered into a room in the Palace and over coffee and biscuits will hear from the Head Gardener the history of the garden and its contents and then will be escorted around the garden by various horticulturalists. The entire tour will be about one hour 45 minutes.
We will meet at 0945 at near the Palace (exact location to be confirmed) as we have to go in as a group. Late comers will not be able to go in, so please make sure to be punctual. Please bring your passport/driving licence and an official document verifying your address.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE VICINITY OF THE PALACE
