Visit to Waddesdon House

Although we have visited Waddesdon Manor in the past (the home of the Rothschild family) the year 2009 marks the 75th anniversary of the death of Baron Edmond de Rothschild, one of the country's greatest collectors of Sevres. Upon his death he divided the whole of his collection between his three children.  James de Rothschild inherited a third of the collection which has never been seen before and which will be on exhibition.  We are fortunate in having two experts from the national trust who will lecture us on the Jewishness of both Edmond and James , on the incredible collection of Sevres and also an insight into James de Rothschild who was a formidable owner of racehorses and whose horse BOMBA won the 1909 Ascot Gold Cup. This visit will prove to be a fascinating insight into the Rothschilds of the 20th century.

Waddesdon is not very far from London and we will have a car pool.  If you are interested in going and are willing to share your car with other passengers please let us know in good time. Thank you so much.
