Day Trip to Bletchley Park
The tour will give you the opportunity to see the Enigma Machines and the Colussus computer (the first computer ever built) that broke the Enigma code. However it is not just these machines that are so fascinating. This historic site is rampant with tales of spies, strategic deception and the map of genius mathematician Alan Turing's top secret silver, supposedly buried in or near Bletchley Park. There is a wartime mini cinema and an outstanding Churchill collection. The ornate Victorian Mansion was the headquarters of British intelligence during the War. The best brains in Britain, many of them Jewish, were recruited from Oxbridge. Our guide, Ruth, was one of the original code breakers.
