The first "Small Montmartre of Bitola", an international art festival for children and young people, was held on the 24th and 25th of May 1982, where forty pupils and five art teachers from Yugoslavia participated. The participants chose their own themes and created art during a two day workshop, working in front of the Cultural Hall in Bitola, establishing the first open space art event. The Children's Art Studio is the organiser of "The Small Montmartre of Bitola", an international exhibition of children's paintings, and is famous for its successful participation at many international and local art festivals and for its humanitarian and educational activities.
