Sephardic music is the unique music of the Sephardic Jews who are one of the three main ethnicities among Diaspora Jews. Sephardic music was born in medieval Spain, with cancioneros being performed at the royal courts but has picked up influences Morocco, Argentina, Turkey and Greece. There are three types of Sephardic songs - topical and entertainment songs, romance songs and spiritual or ceremonial songs. Lyrics can be in several languages, including Hebrew for religious songs, and Ladino. Kerensya (a ladino word which means 'fondness'), the ensemble consists of Norman Cohen Falah, the vocalist and band leader, has roots firmly planted in Argentina and the repertoire also includes Argentine Tango and Milonga, a guitarist, a ney/flute player and a percussionist.
