The International Israeli Music Competition is organized by Tzavta, the Israeli Cultural Centre (part of the Spiro Ark), aiming at encouraging both professionals and students to become familiar with the fascinating musical styles emanating from Israel and fusing Eastern and Western idioms.

A year ago we introduced the Ernest Bloch Competition, as an addition to the only Israeli previous contest. Bloch is one of the leading Jewish composers and since the 50th anniversary of his death was commemorated in 2009, the Bloch part of the competition drew much international interest from competitors worldwide. Thus, it has been decided to make the Bloch addition a regular part of the competition.

Each competitor will be asked to play a prescribed classical composition, a piece of their own choice, as well as an Israeli piece for the Israeli competition and a Bloch piece for the E. Bloch Competition.

Prizes
The first prize for the Israeli competition is £1,000. The Jerusalem Music Centre offer the 1st prize winner/s a concert and live recording (including a lightly edited master CD) auditorium-cum-studio, Other prizes include a performance with the London International Orchestra and a recital in one of London's top venue sponsored by the JMI .

The first prize for the Bloch competition is £800/£500 and an opportunity to participate in the Bloch Festival.

The Finals will take place on the 15th July 2010 at the Royal College of Music.

Please make sure that we receive your applications before or on the 7th May 2010 (before 4.00pm) at the latest .
