Mysraël was born in Saint-Etienne, near Lyon after WWII from a Jewish German mother deported by the Nazis from Worms to the concentration camp in Gurs (South of France) and a Jewish French father who joined the resistance in the South-West of France.
She "is respected as a preeminent Jewish artist", who has accepted many Jewish commissions, including a painting for the 900th anniversary of Rachi in Troyes, and recently she received 2nd prize (delivered by the French B'nai-B'rith jury) for her work at the old Art Museum in Grenoble. She became an active participant in the Israël support (France-Israël) and B'nai-B'rith.
Mysraël is associated with several key art movements. Her haunting, exuberant, and poetic images have enjoyed many exhibitions, and some art critic called her "Chagall's spiritual daughter."
Her most vital work was made on the end of the 20th century when she traveled between Switzerland, Italy, South of France and Burgundy where she now lives. During this period she created her own mixed style of modern art based on her visions of Eastern European Jewish folk culture.
One of Mysraël's works was selected by Hilda Bronstein to illustrate her CD "Yiddish songs, old and new" and the opening of the exhibition on 15 November 2009 will present Hilda's concert .
