Multi Instrumentalist/composer Stewart Curtis formed his ensemble K-Groove in the mid 90's after spending a short but productive spell with Gregory Schechter's Festival Klezmer Band.
K-Groove has always been on the cutting edge of Klezmer in UK & Europe, fusing the genre with other styles of music. The ensemble has produced 2 CDs " Too Loud for Dinner" (1995) and "Smoked Salmon Salsa" (2000) A third CD is planned to be released within the next year.
Stewart & the band became the first winners of Klezmer Idol in August 2007 & subsequently performed at klezfest in Hyde Park & at "Simcha on the Square" in August 2007.
Curtis has recorded & performed with Nick Kershaw, Paul McCartney, Mari Wilson & the Wilsations, Tracey Ullman, Claire Teal, Selina Jones, Percy Sledge, The Foundations, Glen Matlock, Daphna Sadeh & the Voyagers, Stealing Dan & Don, Russel Stone, Yehoram Gaon, Lipa Schmeltzer plus many others.
