A LETTER OF APPRECIATION BY PETER NATT – THE GRANDSON OF HUGO NATT, A GERMAN JEWISH PHYSICIAN FROM WWI

Dear Peter,

It was lovely to meet you and your good wife on the occasion of the launch of your book - Loyal Sons and also to listen to your lecture which was most interesting.

You are to be credited to having done the research and produced this excellent book so quickly.

One of the interesting things was what could be spread from the horses to the soldiers. I believe that you mentioned that Tetanus could be spread from horses to humans and could I ask if this is by their faeces or when they bite people? Also what other things can be speed by horses to humans and what is the mechanism? My interest is that I keep two horses at home so this would be really interesting for me.

I would very much like to get my grandfather's diaries translated from German to English. Have you got any tips on how to do this? I imagine we would need to find a translator who has experience in translating military terms to do this but what else do we need to do?

I hope that you are having a good time in Germany.

Looking forward to be hearing from you.

Best wishes

Peter J Natt
